Guest Reviews

We had a great stay at our condo at Amelia Surf and Racquet Club! Everything was clean and well provided, and the view of both the pool and ocean was beautiful. The unit was updated and perfect for our 6 night stay. Our girls loved swimming in the pool and the beach was right there through the boardwalk.

Property managers are available 24/7. Unbelievable service and attention to customer satisfaction!

Staff at Guest Cottage were very attentive to answering questions and helping with two small issues during our stay, as well as being friendly and personable.

Frequently Asked Questions

We get these a lot, and hope our answers make your vacation planning a bit easier!

Why do people love Amelia Island?

How shall we count the ways?

  • Beaches aren’t super-crowded so you actually have room to enjoy
  • Not as expensive as other vacation spots
  • Amazing island weather and #IslandLife
  • Charming downtown (come say hi, we’re downtown!)
  • Plenty of family activities
  • Nothing’s that far away – it’s always a short drive
  • Two words: Shrimp Fest.
  • Plenty of other outdoors-y activities to enjoy
  • Luxury options abound for those wanting a more distinct experience

The list goes on.

Does Amelia Island get crowded?

Generally, no. Certain areas – such as downtown or the most popular beaches – might be crowded during an event (hello, Shrimp Fest!) or a peak season like middle of July.

But one of the perks of vacationing here is the lack of foot traffic compared to areas like Hilton Head or Jacksonville.

Is Amelia Island expensive?

No. Rentals on the island tend to be cheaper than you’d find in other vacation areas – factors also depend on what you’re looking for, such as proximity to the beach or size of the rental.

Many of the things to do are very reasonably priced, as well, with many options for a wide range of interests.

Is Amelia Island worth it?

Yes 🙂 Of course we’re biased as residents of the island, but look around at TripAdvisor, Google, and other review places you trust and you’ll see tons of 5-star reviews raving about their experience.

So come book a getaway and let us make it simple to enjoy!

Curious to explore Amelia Island further before making it your luxury vacation destination? Be sure to read our local guides for restaurants, events, beaches, and things to do.

What is the difference between Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach?

The difference between Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island as seen on Google Maps

The difference is simple: Fernandina Beach is a city on the island and centers on the downtown area. It contains multiple beach access points, but is one part of the island.

For instance, if you stay on the South side of the island, you won’t be in Fernandina Beach (such as is one of our rentals or while visiting Amelia Island State Park), but will still very much be on Amelia Island.
